Topic:  HR Updates

Date: October 17, 2018

Presenter: Lisa Primising – Global HR

Topic: Conflict Resolution

Conflict Resolution-Workplace Conflict Can be a Good Thing: Today’s workforce is more diverse than ever. Employees from different generations, cultures, and values come together with their own ideals, perspectives and personal expectations. Constant change and sometimes the lack of communication can also lead to unclear work expectations and responsibilities. All of this can create conflict and frustration in the workplace.

When conflict arises, and it will, most people do not feel comfortable addressing it or do not have the skills to work through it. How can you as a Human Resources professional provide a way forward? Our guest this month will discuss how unresolved conflict can negatively impact organizations, some of the reasons for conflict, and how to move conflict from being destructive to constructive.

Presenter: Lisa Primising is passionate about helping individuals discover purpose, joy, and fulfillment in their work. She is committed to helping organizations innovate and grow by effectively engaging and aligning talent and assessing organizational development needs (including an organization’s cultural barriers).

Lisa has a Masters in Organizational Management and a Bachelors in Psychology with 20 years of experience in all aspects of Human Resources and Organizational Development. She has spent most of her HR career helping individuals and teams constructively resolve conflict, navigate through change, and effectively leverage differences. She is certified in various tools used to support leadership development, change management, employee engagement, team building, mediation, cross-cultural/inter-cultural relations, and conflict resolution.
